Thanks Gillie! :thumb:
Everyone hates that bat including me. Maybe I should update it for next year, it's too late for this year. I should leave out the bat or make it easier to kill.

Although the bat is hated. It does make more fun in the gameplay, trying to avoid it!.

I know it's been a long time, but I've only just discovered this great FM. I'm nearly finished, just a few units light on loot.
My question concerns the two metallic unfrobbable doors on the mansion's first (UK, or second USA) floor. Both clang when hit, but I can't find the switches to open them.
One of the doors is found by turning right out of the room with the mechanism in the glass case, and the door is on the left, on the outside wall of the corridor. The other is in the diametrically opposite part of the corridor, and is on the inside wall. Can anyone remember how to open them please?

You can enter via the next door room's fireplace. i think. Find the switch first!

Barbara
The floor I described has no fireplaces on it, they are all on the floor below, and I believe I have opened them all.

Hi Marbrien,
I'm afraid those doors aren't openable at all. They are there just to break up the monotony of long corridors. I should have used door texs instead. I think it's been mentioned earlier in this thread.

When playing this mission back in 2005, I didn't really liked it and stopped right in the middle. Maybe I found it too difficult or scary.
But now, when I went back and finished it this time, it turns out to be pretty good.
Nice design (good looking textures and magic effects), many unexplainable situations, tough enemies, and the diaries that reveal more about what happened in the past, make up for a great experience. I also like the fact that it's based on a realtime (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hylton_Castle) castle and (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cauld_Lad_of_Hylton) legend, and you enter the place for no reason other then finding that ball. I would've ordered my mate to find it :ebil:.
Some weak points of "Having A Ball" are the single choice of difficulty (although the number of health shields still differs) and the high loot requirement. Most of the time I was trying to find the last 10 pounds :p.
Not the best of madwolf's missions, but is still nicely designed, has an original concept, and includes plenty of memorable and unexpected horror moments. Excellent halloween mission :thumb:

I'll upload a new version before the weekend with the loot easier too find, sorry it's so hard; I changed it before release as I thought there was too much! I'll also make the switches easier to find.
I'll also stop Sluggs getting on the roof! :)
I've had trouble with both loot and switches, so these changes would be welcome. Any chance this will be released someday, madwolf?

Alas I think my dromeding days are probably over. Can't seem to find the time any longer. I think if I were to to restart it would be in order to finish at least one of the two missions I've mothballed.
It was a surprise to see this old mission is still being played!

Thanks for the answer.
Too bad to hear. From the quoted post, I got the impression that it was already as good as finished.

That deserves it! As for me, I'm glad to have given it a second try :D
