Melissa
The alcove mentioned in the diary is the same place where the diary is found.
I could not get any of those doors open either,
nor did I find anything in the anteroom.
I wish Garrett had a light saber. It would come in handy in times like these.
This was a nice mission. It made me think I was in a Scooby Doo cartoon. :)
Ok, I've got in the front door of the castle. The door on the left is locked and the door on the right leads down to a series of rooms and another locked door. Thats as far as I get. What do I do to advance from there? I've searched all over and I don't see any hidden levers or keys or anything...
Melissa on 26/10/2004 at 02:17
Alriighty!
@Acorn:
In the basement, the room that is unlit has a lever in the niche in the wall opposite the door. That opens the gate above.
@john9818a
In the anteroom, climb onto the windowsill, lean out and frob the torch to open the fireplace. It leads to the room just by the bottom of the stairs - a pox on you, bat!
Found the kitchen key - just missed it amid all the red smoke.
Any way to kill the nasty juju by the top of the well in the kitchen without drying? One rap on the bean with my broomstick kills it, but it explodes, the b@astard.
Short 115 loot, so I'll go scour the grounds next.
Cheers!

I have scoured the whole mission and am still 200 short.
The jack o' lanterns didn't stand a chance! :ebil: Think they're all scary and stuff, but they ain't seen nothin' like a really frustrated Oneiroscope with a broomstick!! :cheeky:
I did find the switch for the secret passage I mentioned earlier, just didn't see it my first time through.
For some reason when torches aren't lit, they're almost invisible to me. :o I was kinda hoping for more loot besides one candlestick, though. :erg:
Thanks! :cheeky:

I have no weapons, is this by design or do I have a bad download? have not read anything stating that I should not have any. so accustomed to having a blackjack and lockpicks. Do I find weapons later?

@safriend:
You're just an ordinary kid looking for his ball.
If you explore amidst the coffins, you might find something that'll serve...
I finished, stopping as soon as I met the loot requirement, a little under 200 short.
Some hard to spot loot for those who are stuck:
Attic, far corner, necklace. Outside, to the right of where you start when facing the castle, go in to the area formed by the other side of the mausoleum. Hop up into the alcove/window and you'll find a pouch. I think someone already mentioned the coins upstairs, in the area with the marble floor, just below the image on the wall (opposite wall from where the lighthouse widget sits). Also upstairs in a corner room with a window that has a cross beam, there's a ring on the sill. Another teeny ring in the hidden area that leads to the red alcove in the first alcove, also on the sill.
The bottles of "Old Peculiar":
Healing potions!
Thanks for a delightful FM!
If you ever feel like tweaking, it would be grand if you could smash open the heads of the evil pumpkin-men at the end, complete with sound effects! :ebil:
Cheers!

I'll upload a new version before the weekend with the loot easier too find, sorry it's so hard; I changed it before release as I thought there was too much! I'll also make the switches easier to find.
I'll also stop Sluggs getting on the roof! :)

That was a very scary mission! Thanks a lot! It took me quite a time lurking in the shadows before I dared to attack the skeletons and others. I don't think the switches are too hard to find, but I might have been only lucky.
@Melissa: have you solved your little problem in the kitchen yet?
I managed to kill it with several blows of my broomstick. Just don't let it attack you. I think the explosion is his attack, because you can see the bugs afterwards
Anyone having problems with the bats?
Lead them to the skeletons outdoors and let them fight it out.

Works great with the scarecrows too.
