Man, I'm being facetious here. I figured my obvious photoshop would've been a clue to that. :P

I was guessing that, but it was soo ttlg-authentic it wasn't even funny, wasn't sure what to believe.

It looks interesting. The style and gameplay remind me a lot of an old shooter called Slave Zero from way back when.
The kitbash approach is an interesting idea, and looks like it could work really well at the scale they're dealing with. An AK-47 can't really be re-used as architecture, but a 30mm cannon can.

It's the way they build the environments with a bunch of small set pieces, and just spread and rotate them around to create larger and detailed setpieces, and have the lightmapbaking take care of them looking right together.
Same with the mechs, smaller parts re-used over the whole thing.
I don't think they interchange between the mechs and the environments though.

The blurb you quoted says they use guns in the architecture, which is a cool idea. And I would be very, very surprised if mech components like railings and plates don't get used elsewhere.

My bad, it even fooled me.
This is how small indie teams should be going about when making things look high end, it has amazed even the big game-art communities.

Thanks Eldron for the quote. So they cheated. A bit disappointing, but that video does look great. I love the artistic look. Reminds me of Borderlands in a way.

Disappointing?
Game art at the core is about cheating and pulling tricks, the more of it you can conjure up, the better you can make things look at a lower rendering cost.

I'm aware of that. I'm taking a game art class right now as we speak. I was talking about how they don't even use normal maps for this particular game: "most textures doesn't even use normal or specular mapping" Also the reusing the same thing over again.
Of course if they can make the game look good without those maps it doesn't much matter. Don't get me wrong, gameplay is always more important than graphics, but these days you also can't help but want the best looking things as possible because the tech behind it has improved.
And on an off-topic note, I love your pack for minecraft, I've been using it for a long time.
