I was about to post "oh god, what a horrid online community that will be" but then
A. I remembered Halo 2, and realized it probably can't be any worse than other online console games (or most online PC games, for that matter)
B. United by their Poke-fever, it's *possible* people could form a nice little community.
Will it have voice chat, or is this mute online battling?
And if there are no online games, what exactly is the point in exchanging friends code? Is there an online chatroom thing or something?

I think it gives you email, and I suspect you can populate some games with other people's Mii's - your team on wii baseball, for instance.

Ah, that's cool.

Concerning voice chat, how will it be done? The most preferable method would be to use the Wii's internal Bluetooth radio with a typical cell phone headset(and while we're at it, how about some BT keyboard support as well for the sake of Opera?). Another possibility would be using one of the USB ports, but there's only two of them(not to mention that it means using wired peripherals on a WIRELESS console).
Obviously, it would be just plain weird to not have any form of chat during online gameplay, even though that's how it's done on the DS for the most part...but this is the Wii, a HOME CONSOLE! Why not?
Now, if we'd just get some online games already...the Wii's potential hasn't quite been realized for me yet. I want my SSBB, and perhaps Battalion Wars 2 as well...and if I were to delve into my wish list, how about a Die by the Sword sequel with a control scheme like VSIM on steroids?

Maybe we'll have to just sit around an IRC window like we did with the DS.
I'll be adding everyone I missed shortly.

I'm jealous.
I have ADSL and my ISP isn't compatible with my Wii. ... At all. I tried everything. It really pisses me off. One of the best features about the Wii is its online capabilities.
Needless to say, posting my code won't help anyone.

You sure about that? Maybe we could help.

You shouldn't even have a code if your ISP isn't compatible with your Wii. It gets assigned during the initial on-line setup.
