I must admit, I use a single roombrush in doorways unless there is a sound issue with said doorway.
Laziness FTW!

Same here.

Since I usually transition flooring at the center of the doorway, I already have two air brushes there, so room brushing "properly" with two room brushes is no problem for me. In fact, putting just one room brush there would be more work.

I usually transition at the edge of a doorway, which is why I usually put one.

Fun fact: If you place a single room brush precisely centered on a door,
neither side of the door will link to it (a peak at the leaked source makes it pretty clear why this happens). This is what causes those doors that are near-silent when lockpicked-- the room brush that the door is actually in gets attenuated from both sides as if it's on the other side of the door.

Aha, well the old solution for this makes sense then. Way back someone figured out that if you bump the roombrush a few hundredths in either direction it often fixes the quiet door sounds problem. Now we know why I guess.

What are you talking about?

I used to do what ZylonBane describes, and then I figured out how to properly roombrush doorways.

An old version of the source code was leaked a couple of years back. Not of much use since it turned out to be incomplete, but handy for seeing how some things were accomplished.

I've always been doing that, but I've been having the silent door problem only once :o
