I revised my post about lever locations. Please check it.

Xarax,
I'm playing version 1.9s with Thief Gold and I've come across a bug with the objectives that causes the mission to end prematurely. I'm playing on Expert level (the lowest one).
I'm at the place there there's a long note to Garrett just before he enters the Old Towne. On the table is a gold saucer and in the same room is a lever. If I pick up the gold saucer my loot objective (500) is fulfilled. But if I do that all the other objectives also get checked off and I get the mission completed screen.
I'm enjoying the mission so I'm going to try to continue without picking up anymore loot.
If it'll help you debug, I can send you a saved gave.

I missed starting this level due to spending all my thief time beta-testing Calenda's Legacy. Unfortunatly, I can't get anywhere due to the problem with the lever. Has it been fixed? Damn, I wish I had bought Thief Gold when it wasn't made out of unobtanium.

I will look into the objective bug a.s.a.p. and get a fix uploaded. thanks.

Hopefully, this fixes the early completion bug when the loot requirement is satisfied. Please let me know about any other problems, issues, etc.
thanks.

Inserting the lever now immediately opens the gate, and the gate is unfrobbable so you cannot shut and get stuck. Must use the lever to operate the gate. Once open, there's really no need to shut it again.

Finished in 53 minutes and 32 seconds on Expert. My haul was 1037 of 1387 total loot. The puzzles in Heart and Soul are similar to the ones in The Varyx Obelisk: well designed and enjoyable once you get into the flow of finding the next key or lever to open a locked door or to activate a dormant teleporter. The playthrough was a breeze except for a part at the end where it took me a while to find the portal back to the Mystic Treasure Chamber.
The story picks up directly after The Varyx Obelisk. It feels more like a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy story with its mythical places (Eldevier, Sorkonia), creatures (Lothgoryn Nemis, Morthril Daewen, Queen Arachnia, Venus Malicia) and wizards (Ybynwan, Magis Xtarka, The Menace) than something set in the same world as the original Thief missions. But it works and helps contextualize the puzzles.

I finally managed to play the sequel to "the Varyx Obelisk" and I gotta say I loved it just as much :) The way to approach the mission, having to find secret doors and solving puzzles is the same as in the prequel.
Very enjoyable and an especially good mission since it was made only in 2002!:thumb:
