i'm in love with thief since the assassins demo, i bought all the games, but my true love is the dark project, not that 2&# aren't great, i just love the first game the most.
i find my self every couple of month play a few missions, for old time sakes.
i have a question, more a wish than a question, is there away to update the game engine to 32bit? i have the gold edition, and i stumble (in this amazing forum) upon many modes, but not the one i need.
if u can direct me to a place where i can find a way to to update the engine files, ill be eternally grateful.
all the best.

There was a group of people working on this, but they only managed to get it up to 24 bits. Rumour has it that it was a pet rat that stopped the whole project by taking a bite out of it...

ur an idiot i get it.
well, not a complete idiot, but pretty lame with jokes.
well after that post, i guess no one would help me.

Changing to 32-bit graphics would require access to the Source Code, which has not been released (or even worse, has been lost). The engine is 32-bit though, as the game runs on 64-bit OS's. This is (one reason) why OpenDark is being developed.

If you install DDFix, you get the potential of true 32bit texturing, although there are no comprehensive texture replacement packages for the original textures or anything like that. The best example of how great this can look is (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131652) jermi's recent T2Skies release, which leverages DDFix to provide amazing looking skies in the T2 OMs.
And by the way, there's no apostrophe in "thieves".

brian and yandros thank you very much.
i understand that engine will not be available soon, one might think it will never happen, due to dark engine source code is gone.
well, i hope volca will find 1 or 2 productive programmers.
p.s
yandros thank you for correcting me. :-)
