T2XHD.7z must NOT be in the FMs folder. it can be anywhere else (on your desktop, for example), but not in the FMs folder (the FAQ on moddb says otherwise, strange. anyway, I'm 100% sure that "archive path may not be inside the FM path", so just don't do that and you will be fine).

Why?
T2XHD.7z is in my FM folder and it's working fine with FMSel.
What about other FMs? Is it working with FMSel?
Do you have 7z.dll in the main folder? You can find it in contrib.zip (NewDark.zip). No be sure, put the content of contrib.zip into the T2 main folder.

I need to double check this, it's been a while (one way or another, the FMs folder is where extracted fan missions are/should be kept, and nothing else, if you want to be safe). anyway, pretty sure that just not trying to set the FM archive path into the FMs folder as FMselect suggests would solve the problem.
to make it short, I'm 99% sure he is trying to set up a folder with fan mission archives inside the FMs folder, which is the one and only location that isn't supported. keeping the fan mission archives anywhere else (T2/FMarchives for example), and pointing FMselect to use that as FM archive path will solve the problem.

That's possible. I set up a seperated FM folder - of course.

Thank you!! I created a different folder (FM) instead of the existing FMs folder and it worked from there : )
