I think you might be looking for The Lost Crusade, which is a daylight one, but in terms of AI and settings it well fits the atmosphere described by you.

Not sure I ever have played The Lost Crusade will give it a try, but the one I was looking for was infact The Mirror of Return, which I forgot to mention more clearly here. :)

I was thinking of Lost Crusade too, but when I checked it, there are no Arabian themed AI in it.
