I'm stuck at [SPOILER]the metal door in the mechanist workroom.... I have searched really thoroughly for a switch or lever, and even tried blowing it open with the explosive charge and fire arrow you find in the room....[/SPOILER] Has anyone gotten past this yet?

I am stuck here too. I have looked everywhere and I tried everything. Doused the fireplace, the torch, destroyed the mech bot, set up the explosive charge at the door and used a fire arrow and nothing happened. I have looked in Dromed and I didn't see anything that would unlock this door.
I guess that means there isn't a key for the wood door at the beginning. I looked everywhere but I had to resort to bashing it in.

I also had to bash it down.... going to look in Dromed to see if there are lock bits set on the door, and then see if there's a key set to open it somewhere.... maybe the author accidentally left the key out or put it in the wrong room?

I got this mission from the author yesterday and ran into the same problem. You are SUPPOSED to be able to blow open that metal door, but it doesn't seem to work. The funny thing is that it works for him and he even installed it on another computer to test it after I said it didn't work and the explosive worked! I was beginning to think that it was just my computer or that I needed a refresher course in how to use explosives! I guess until he finds a way to fix it, we won't be able to see the rest. :(

Did he mention how he set up the explosive charge? Close to the door, far away from the door, at an angle etc?

I've got a screenshot and it was set up the same way I had it, with the explosive right up against the door. I've tried it in a lot of different locations, but I just can't get it to work.

I not think realy who cause this problem.
Only i have one idea yours use new version of thie(patched)
I add to door lower hitpoints, and new firestim reaction.
(fires cause damage)

I'm afraid the door doesn't work in the new version, either, but don't apologize! We're a patient bunch, so we'll just look forward to seeing the rest of the mission when you've solved the problem with the door. :)

Might simply leave key on table, or lever inside chimney.
