Am completely stuck on TDS on Day 2 St Edgars Church/Builders Chalice ----- how the dickens do you get into the Cathedral, have tried climbing boxes, looking for secret entrances to no avail! Would appreciate some help here!

You sneak to the left from where you've entered, way till the dead end, stop near the Statue. There is a guard walking back and forth - hide in the shadows so that you are on the guard's right when he faces the statue and you can grab the key from the keyring on his belt. Wait untill he's done with his prayer (don't forget to look around for loot) and make it up the boxes to the balcony.... I forgot what the key opens... :0 Well, if it's the main door then you can use the main entrance, though it's rather unsafe...
EDIT:
Oh, wait. You mean you cannot get through the gates from Stonemarket? If so, you can only get in when there is the glyph on the main gate...

You can only do the missions when you are specifically told to and a glyph is bright blue on the door, portal, etc. Like the one over the boat in the dock.
You cannot do any mission out of a given order.
If you have the objective to get into the area, and the glyph on the doors where the two thieves were arguing, next to the guard station at the gate, put your nose on the glyph (highlight it) click and you're in.
