My boyfriend has a windows xp serivce pk 2 laptop but has trouble playing thief 1. After about two mins the pc "locks". i have looed at the faq's but cant see anything directly related. (might be being dumb). Any help would be gr8t.

The red FAQ has a section titled (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#hyperthread) Game freezes within a minute / Running Thief on a Dual-Processor/Dual Core System or Got a Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading? which is likely to be what you want.
