I have played Thief 3 multiple times with no difficulty. I haven't played it in over a year and was just coming back to it after completing 1 & 2.
I can't get the game to run. The first time I inserted the CD, it loaded fine and I began the first mission. The game froze at the first load screen before the mission started.
Now every time I try to run the game, the hourglass comes up like normal, but then my mouse icon disappears completely and it seems like my computer freezes. The ctrl alt delete tells me that the game is not responding.
I have tried completely uninstalling and re-installing the game, but it didn't change anything.
I've also tried running the game from the shortcut and not using the auto-run feature. It produces the same results.
Nothing on my computer has changed since the last time I played.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not very technical, so I'm afraid I have exhausted my knowledge base!
Please let me know if this has happened to any of you and what steps you took to fix it!

Count your blessings, Taffer.

Oh, I'm sure someone will be by to give you sound and valid help. If you haven't already, you may wish to try this in the Thief III area...

Specs of your comp would help us find the cause of your trouble.
Have a Dual-core/HT processor? Then might wanna try this method: (

Be sure to use the correct .exe (should be t3.exe I think).
