The first is a bug that should be fixed in v2.0.
The second is intended as a shortcut down to ground level if you manage to find the slowfall potion. I know it isn't very realistic, it's more for fun and convenience.

Does v2.0 have the Insanely Tiny secret buttons again?
I hope not. Yes, I realize that in real life secret buttons are actually like that, but in real life you'd be an expert thief with a lifetime of experience at spotting that sort of thing, plus you'd be able to physically feel around for them. That's why the secret switches in the OMs and most FMs are so apparently obvious... the mission designer made them as apparent as they would be to Garrett.

The button in
the Room 4 bedroom
has been moved and is slightly more noticeable.
The one
in the penthouse (Angel's Tear)
is now gold rather than the color of the wallpaper.
Sorry Zylonbane, but making well-hidden buttons is just my style. My tendency is to make them even harder to find than in the original release; I had to temper that a bit in v2 based on all the comments about it. But I don't plan to make them as easy to find as in the OM's in my future missions. I suppose folks will start expecting it from me and ask for help here as needed.

Can somebody please tell me where to find the Easter egg? And does that button, wherever it is, count as a secret?
This is for Version 2. Thanks!

Yandros, would you consider putting a note in the readme about the wine bottles? I didn't really like that, since the player isn't expecting it. But I'm a little bitter about that anyway, since my brother spoiled that for me :nono: ...
Speaking of which, Komag's site has a spoiler for BHI on the Contest 4 page, so you might want to look out for that if you haven't beaten it yet...
Easter egg, huh? I kind of want to play it again anyway...

Warning, explicit instructions below!
Go through the door behind the reception desk; go down the elevator into the basement. In the big, furnished room, walk past the fireplace; the last end-table on your left has a secret switch behind it. This switch (which counts as a secret) opens a wall section that leads to the Easter egg... a really cool one, too!
Well worth trying out. Especially the board.

I cannot find
the key to the door where the tool box is kept. I've searched all over the bedroom in the basement found the easter egg ( cool )
I've looked for switch or button
 as well. Anyone Know?
Mary.
OK found it.
Finished mission. Great fun. Sneaky hiding places.

Great mission! And very complex despite the small space of whole location!!
Very well hidden button. Even though I figured out that the place of the swording was very near the hidden compartment, I didn't find the button by myself. Because it's an unusual button compared to Thief original or other mission. And to be frankly I was looking for a small switch.

Great mission! I enjoyed it alot. Concerning the secret buttons; i generally don't like ultra hidden buttons but in some cases; they have value. Anyway, the point for me is no that there are hidden, hard to find buttons; the problem i have with some fan based missions is that the buttons are there, while you have not any clue what or where to look for.
So secret buttons, fine. But make the search not "the whole map" wide, but narrow it down; give a player some hints where to look in a not too huge area. A appartment, like here; is a example of good work.
Aldo you don't have a clue for the secret button at room 4 i believe; so that's a little hard.

Btw, didn't used the slowfall potion at all, just killed all the guards, knocked out the rest and killed the assasin, after he has killed the lady in room six.
Glad you liked it. As for the secret button in Room 4, it's, well, a secret and not required to finish the mission, so I think it's OK for there to be no clues about its existence. That being said, though, this was one of my earliest missions and I did tend to hide buttons too well back then; the one in the penthouse which is required to get the gem is clearly guilty of that I think.
And the slowfall potion is useful only if you're ghosting or otherwise trying to avoid the bluecoats who show up in the lobby after the showdown in the penthouse. You can make the railing swing open from one of the penthouse balconies and float down right outside the innkeep's apt door and avoid the lobby altogether. (In hindsight, no hotel would ever have such a railing, so it's clearly a contrived gameplay element!)
