Are you kidding me I always will perfer the classics over the new stuff we got nowadays I am usally a strict console gamer until I got this new rig and I hated halo.It lacked depth and gameplay for graphics.

I actually have to say Halo didn't suck me in either. I only played it for an hour, but still, Thief sucked me in in less than 10 minutes. I will always have a soft spot for TDS though since it was the first Thief experience I had (even if TG is superior in some ways).
Except in missions, the loot is mostly random Max. That's not a bad thing if you want to suck the town dry of money. Just steal people's purses then blackjack or backstab them and leave the bodies in some out of the way shadows. Go to the opposite end of the city section, and piss about for say 10 minutes and the bodies will disappear. Then new townsfolk will spawn, sometimes with more loot. There is no maximum/minimum loot count in the city sections.
