Seems I've figured out part of my troubles. The .mi and .mc files that I am writing for player arms are somehow corrupt as soon as they are saved. They can not be reopened in motedit, it spits out an error "Read beyond end of file". I popped them into a hex editor but don't see any crazyness that would warrant the crash, they look normal.
Here's the kicker. Motion Editor 2.0.2 was released in 2004 with Player Arm support. But the Motion Editor 2.0.2 that is in the DromEd Toolkit has been modified from the original and rebuilt, the files show modified on 8/19/2014. So right now I'm working under the assumption that someone was optimizing the editor after Weyoun left and somehow broke the Player Arm functionality.
I'm going to have to dig through all my DromEd discs and see if I can find the original 2.0.2 editor from Weyoun in 2004 and test this theory. If anyone wants to check their copies or has a link to the original please let me know!
EDIT: P.S. I can open, edit, save, and reopen non player motions just fine in the 2014 editor.
