Help with Darkloader - TTLG Forums

I've been out of the loop for a couple of years now. My hard drive crashed and I started all over. Thing is, I forgot how to do anything and everything.

I downloaded darkloader, but not sure if it's current. Any game I'm trying to run, at least ones from 2012 crash back to windows when I hit play.

1.) I unzipped darkloader in my thief 2 folder, was this correct in doing so?
2.) I sort of remember having problems with scripts, do I need to do anything with this?
3.) Is there anything else I'm doing wrong?

Any help is appreciated and feel free to pm me instead of posting here if you want. This may take several messages back and forth. I want to get back to playing some great fan missions. Thanks.

I think you might need to update your Thief installation. Use the latest TFix for Thief: Gold and Tafferpatcher for Thief 2. Tafferpatcher should also let you install scripts that may be needed for some fan missions. After that, use New Dark v1.22 to get Thief 2 fully updated.

Also I would recommend unzipping Darkloader to a new folder of its own, putting it inside the Thief folders can cause registry issues. Fan missions also should be in a folder of their own.

Hi Philflound, welcome back! Dev_Anj is correct in that all you'll probably need is (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) Tafferpatcher and (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134733) TFix but they both include the latest v1.22 NewDark patch so you won't need to do further updating. also, you are probably better off using the new built in FMselect to load FMs.

Installed Taffer and tested one FM and it worked. Any problems, I'll come back. Thanks again.
