I am getting really frustrated. About 3 months ago I got my new computer and spent probably 6 hours straight installing and fixing all of the thief games, including thief 2x and fan missions. I haven't really touched them since then, but now when I try to launch a Fan Mission through the Fan Mission Selector, nothing happens. I think it's called FMSel or something like that, IIRC it came with T2Tool or Tafferpatcher or something. I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I think I also had Thief 2x set to run as a fan mission because that was the only way I could get it to launch. I had 2 or 3 fan missions plus Thief 2x in that directory but now I can't get any of them to launch. My thief 2 game works fine, but I think the Fan Mission Selector is broken or something. Any help would be appreciated.

Weird, I thought you meant the FM selector didn't appear when you run Thief, but the FM selector opens, it just doesn't launch Thief. I did a little experimentation, and it seems if you just have the Thief2, Cam_mod.ini and fmself.dll files in a folder, it will run the FM selector, and then do nothing when you try launching something.
Perhaps your shortcut to thief2 is to the wrong location, and some of the game files are missing, or misconfigured? It's a little odd that you have a THIEF2 folder inside your Thief2 folder. Try reinstalling thief and installing tafferpatcher again.

I think something got messed up with your installation. Just redownload and rerun Tafferpatcher and see if that fixes things.

+1 to creating fresh, clean installs with no manual tweaking (TFix and TafferPatcher will both create FMselect shortcuts for you). then we'll see.

I had some issues with FMSelector as well when I first tried using it. The problem I ran into was that I was putting my zipped FMs into an FM folder in my thief directory as I used to do with Darkloader. This won't work with FMsel. Store your zipped FMs in another location and have FMSel pull from there.

With FMSel I always keep my fan missions unzipped in FMs folder inside Thief directory and thus never had a problem so far.

I create a folder for each separate FM and unzip mission archives into those. FMSel does the rest, and it keeps my main Thief direcotry clean.

I have a thief2 folder in each install I have.. I think it comes with tafferpatcher?? It containes only miss8.mis
