Rug Burn Junky? All I know about the guy is that he once hopped on a plane and flew halfway across the country just to eat bacon out of a sling. I mean what kind of a person does that? Good lord. It takes me a damn week to save up for a plane ticket, but this motherfucker here goes out and spends 3x what your average middle class family earns in a month cuz OLOL IT'S THE WEEKEND! And for what? Goddamn bacon in a sling.
He's in money law, you say? More like he's getting LAW MONEY! Hell, as a show of solidarity, I think he should buy us presents.
Happy birthday.

Dinner was a low key affair on Saturday, at Momofuku Ssäm Bar. Starting next door at (
http://www.momofuku.com/restaurants/ssam-bar/menu/bar-bar/) Bar Bar with a couple of cocktails (a White Tea Fashioned - with Tequila, White Ginger tea and Orange Bitters, and another that I can't remember the name of, with blackberry bourbon, cherry liqueur and fernet branca), along with a starter of (
http://momofukufor2.com/2010/01/momofuku-pork-buns/) steamed pork buns.
Moving next door to (
http://www.momofuku.com/restaurants/ssam-bar/menu/dinner/) dinner itself, we started out with more pork buns (have I mentioned that they are fucking phenomenal? Like seriously, the greatest thing ever), and an order of Edwards WigWam cured ham, before moving on to the pork shoulder steak and roasted lamb loin for our entrees. Oh and what I think may be the perfect cocktail ever rendered: the (
http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2009/11/time-for-a-drink-penicillin-cocktail.html) Penecillin. Did I mention the pork buns? (no I didn't have a third order, but I considered it).
Continuing my David Chang whore-dom, and moving across the street to (
http://www.momofuku.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/east-village-menu-aug-1.jpg) Milk Bar, I had their signature Cereal Milk soft-serve, with cornflake crunchies. Oh god, so good (he had had a similar dessert on the menu at (
http://www.momofuku.com/restaurants/ko/) Momofuku Ko when I first went there in '08, except as (
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/18/dining/183drex.html) pannacotta.
That out of the way, we finished the night at one of my favorite cocktail joints, the very laid back and unpretentious (in spite of the drinks) (
http://www.louis649.com/html/notepad.php?pad=28&psi=63) Louis 649, where I started with one of my faves, the Aztec Old Fashioned (unfortunately, a slightly heavy hand on the bitters, but still excellent) and followed it up with a Fancy Free, which is probably my favorite classic prohibition-era cocktail.
Tonight was a simple affair, as I went to a gallery in Chelsea where my (amazing) girlfriend had curated a show on psychedelic video art, and I really couldn't have been more proud.
