Who has to reinstall games these days?
People who buy new PCs?

What I've played so far is a BLAST. (I haven't had this much mindless fun since Painkiller.) I hope they keep going to complete their intended full version.
(Too bad they don't have a Fan Mission system and Mapping Community to provide content... :ebil: )

Who has to reinstall games these days? Hard drives are so huge we have almost bottomless space. I've got everything from Wolfenstein 3D, to Deus Ex, to the latest Dark Mod FMs and the Amnesia demo installed.
How about people who
don't have massive hard drives and can't afford them? Not to mention all the shit
you're installing barely takes up a gig per game.
That said, allow me to give you apoplexy by saying that digital distribution outlets like Steam have saved my life the last couple months as I do not have a functioning DVD drive at this moment in time.

Hopefully all of that Silver Lining business recently is a good sign that Activision will leave this mod be.

I wonder... how's the music in this TC? Some of the music in Hexen and Heretic was quite good. For example, Hexen 2 map 02, Hexen 1 map01 and map22. I'm sure there are others, because I've never finished the game.
The music was done by Justin Lassen, I've only played it a few minutes but I'd say its good. He is definitely getting better. I've always liked his ideas, but his execution style seems a bit tacky to me. So far it's decent though.
here is his website: (

Personally I think he barely holds a candle to Ed Harrison, the kid who did the NeoTokyo soundtrack, but he is by no means bad.
He also did the Out of Hell soundtrack if you'd like a reference point.

Who has to reinstall games these days?
People who actually work on their computers instead of just storing games on them

Who got the idea to mix Hexen with Independence War 2?
Identical subtitle joke aside, they have to be careful with that whole engine switching ordeal. It's killed some past mod projects before, and even almost killed some commercial projects (Prey and Duke Nukem Forever being the obvious examples).
If they pull it off, though, I'm always down for more Hexen. (Maybe save for the Guide Dang It-inducing level design of the first game.)
EvaUnit02 on 29/11/2010 at 16:14
Eh? They scrapped the engine switching idea eons ago, by the looks of it. The game is still a Doom 3 mod - i.e. the recently released demo certainly requires D3.

Yeah, that post in this thread that mentions engine switching is from 2006. I think it's safe to say they didn't go that route.
