Regardless of what your opinion on abortion is (myself, I`m more - less with Renzatic`s angle here - no one`s right), criminalizing it is about as dumb as criminalizing drug use. In case your day was too cheerful so far or something, have a little read on "abortion tourism" - big thing here in Poland & Ireland.

Good. I'm glad. I'm glad most abortions are something a woman actively chooses rather than something which is essentially forced upon her through the tragedy of abuse. More women taking control of their reproductive rights is a good thing, not a bad thing. Some people think abortion is terrible, I'm not one of those people. Abortion rates are up, birth rates are down, fucking celebrate. We can't even manage to feed and clothe all the people who are already fucking here.
And you know what really fucks me off is anti-abortionists. Those fucking fascists don't give a shit about babies, they just want to chain women to the sink. They think a woman's place is home raising a family (while father goes to work... none of this gay business), and any woman who shuns all that for a career is a selfish genocidal bitch. They're the Taliban with $100 haircuts. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on.

Some might be of the crazy right wing sort that would oppose support for poor families (ie, baby now suffers) but that'll be a personal responsibility thing ie blaming parents for not working hard enough.

Superstitious twaddle aside, the fact remains that when you abort a fetus, you're killing a lifeform (or a clump of cells for people who insist on not calling a fetus alive) that will one day be an actual living person. Shouldn't be too hard to understand why some people, be they religious or not, have a problem with that.
