Hi there what shall I play next out of this ridiculous backlog - by Gingerbread Man

Alright of the games in your list:
AC Syndicate - Pretty good, though it is broken with the combat somewhat. The story is good, gameplay is great (despite the bugs). The DLC is excellent. Worth playing.
Batman Arkham Asylum - Excellent game. Has a very metroidvania except in 3D feel to it, as you gain access to new sections of existing areas as the game goes on. This is my favorite of the Batman Arkham games.
Batman Arkham City - Good, but it lacks the metroidvania stuff of asylum. Much more open world style. Has it's good sides, but I found it a bit boring at times.
Metro 2033 - Good game. There's nothing ultra great about it, but it's worth playing. It gets better the further you get into it. I found fighting the human enemies to be more fun than taking on the mutants.
Tomb Raider - Excellent game. Worth playing. Good exploration, crafting, gameplay.
Far Cry 5 - Awesome game overall. Has a very "Red Dawn" kinda feel to it, of the US being invaded. Very unique theme, since the terrorists are christian, which I've not seen done in a game ever.
Deus Ex - Mankind Divided - I was divided on this one. Whilst it's a good game, it's not a great one. It lacks the magic that HR has. The final DLC though - That is excellent.
Prey - If you like/love SS2 your in for a good ride. Enough said.
Dishonored 2 - Excellent game. As good as, if not better than the first game. Some really damn fun time travel stuff later on in it.
Dishonored 2 - The DLC - Because of how Dishonored 2 ends, for me it felt odd in the choice of "enemies". An interesting story. I'm a bit mixed on this DLC.

GeeBee, considering FO4 and GTA 5 are essentially full-tilt miniature worlds to sink yourself into, RDR 2 is a no-brainer to replace one of them if you like the setting. There's so much stuff in it wherever you go, so many little conversations and interactions to be had, places to discover, people to accidentally shoot in the face, animals to casually murder, and it's all beautifully rendered. The pace is fairly leaden in comparison to most games, but I count that as an asset that lets you marinate in the world.
Also: fuck Limbo. Play Inside instead.

Hitman 2! Hitman 16/18 is the most replayable game of all time in my book. I put more time into it than other game I've ever played, pretty much got 100% on everything, and still miss it... you'd think I'd be sick of those levels by now!
I really enjoyed DXMD and the Arkane stuff - some really brilliant level design there - but I certainly don't feel they represent a philosophical step forwards for immsims. If anything, they're a step back. Still quite fun.
The Arkham games are great, but I think you have to enjoy the atmosphere/vibe and traversal to get a lot out of them, and the later entries do have some problems (too much collectibullshit, questionable pacing).

Gotta add Inside to my shopping list then I guess.

I also preferred Inside, but I still thought Limbo was worth it for the atmosphere. For me it was short enough not to overstay its sadistic welcome.

I've played through Limbo 6 times on 4 different platforms but Inside only once, so clearly, mathematically speaking, Limbo is actually the better game. Sorry boys, the numbers don't lie. :|

I have a friend who used to play Limbo obsessively when he needed a distraction, so I can't say it's a completely useless game. But it is tedious trial and error learn-by-dying bullshit, and it's not particularly interesting in its goth atmosquirks, nightmare spiders notwithstanding. Inside does the job of losing the bullshit for smarter, streamlined puzzling that doesn't kill you as often while actually suggesting a semi-coherent fucked up story through its world design, and it does these so much better, it's not even funny (or maybe it is - it's probably the most blackly funny game ever made, either intentionally or unintentionally).

I'll go against the grain (sort of) and say that Dishonored 2 was terribly written with an overwrought and melodramatic story and finicky gameplay that amounted to a ton of trial and error if you wanted to play it like Thief. I finished it because the level design was interesting and it looked beautiful, but I doubt I'll play it again. Prey, on the other hand, while not as flashy, felt like a proper immersive sim, where you could try things and adapt if they failed. And the writing was really good.

I'll agree with you there Aja on Dishonored 2's gameplay if you're playing stealthy.
And it's a shame the achievements and Chaos system railroad you in to playing that way; it feels like you're missing out on all sorts of interesting things. And indeed, when you do decide to just let rip, there's a lot of really cool stuff in there. In fact, I'd say the sheer quantity of lethal tools and slick moves available makes the game incredibly easy, even on the hardest difficulty.
Prey definitely got this right, and I never felt the need to constantly save-scum, whereas playing Dishonored 2 stealthily meant I always had a finger hovering over F5/F9.
