This was posted awhile ago on someone's blog: (

I don't know if I believe a word of it, it mostly sounds like bullshit to me, but, if this is true then I'm torn between hating this idea and loving it.
A big part of me really wants to love it (especially the dystopian America theme), and the realization by 47 that he has been duped--that he finds his "humanity." But, the progressive story-line being setup reeks of Terminator, with the only possible ending of 47 offing himself in a Hitman 6 to end the series. Can anyone say cliche?

"Now I know why you cry."
If the rumour is true, then probably thought that the formula had gotten stale. Past reinventions of established franchises have been hit and miss. For every Resident Evil 4 you have a Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness; and let's not forget about every post-Mega Drive Sonic game.

Yeah, but I don't think Hitman has gotten stale in anyway. I just replayed Blood Money the other night, and am still drawn into the atmosphere of the game and the artistry in achieving a stealthy kill (silent assassin on every level).
To have 47 now out "on his own" and cleaning up the world of evil warmongers--that, too me, that is a stale idea.

In the little establishing 'movie' at the head of the game we show a montage of 47 realising that he's been duped and that it's actually the people he's been working for who are the bad guys. If you think about it, it's obvious. The agency 47 works for is the killingest bunch out there. They created 47 just to kill. Who the fuck does that? Villains obviously. So we have 47 embrace his humanity, kind of thing, wake up to the fact that he's been duped and then take out his own bosses.

It reads like a fantasy on part of the blog author (blog is heavily politically charged).
Also, how super fucking subversive .

This is obviously fiction.

That was the vibe I was getting--especially the whole, "check out who really runs the world," stuff. The only thing I pulled up on Google was some lunatic who posted a newsletter about five years ago.
Fucking bloggers anyway.
