Thank god other people think he looks like a kid too, i remember first seeing the trailor for it and just turning to my buddy and being like "That guy looks like a 12 year old in his dads suit!".

And what's worse is he is trying so hard to appear older and more 'intense' by scrunching his face up. What I've seen of the performance so far reminds me of Hayden Christensen's turn as Anakin Skywalker. He can't really act and get into the character so projects all the emotion onto his face in a really obvious way.

Goddamnit. If there was a game that was a virtually-assured easy screenplay, it's any one of the Hitman series. How in God's name have they managed to fuck it up so completely that it's glaringly obvious what a turd it will be from that useless, uninformative, unimaginative, unexciting clip?
Also Timothy Oliphant is about a step and a half behind Billy Zane for this. We all know we wanted Statham, but I guess Crank kinda made that unlikely. :(

Here's what I've been able to deduce about the movie from that clip:
Heh, seriously dude, if you can't deduce that it looks like a hammily acted, poorly choreographed (I mean, like Bad Boys 1990's action movie level of bad action choreography), stupid in-joke referencing, terribly directed/cut piece of substandard action... I really just don't know what, honestly. It looks that bad. If that was a sequence from ANY movie, I'd be asking some serious questions, but a movie based on a video game? Come on, it's like a foregone conclusion.
And yes, what makes it worse is what GBM said, there are so many ways that this could have been done
SO awesomely. A little bit of adaptation would've gone a long way I reckon.

Geez people, chill out. The clip isn't that bad. I actually quite enjoyed it for what it was.
Scots Taffer on 8/11/2007 at 02:56
chill out? over a video game adaptation? no FUCKING way.
Muzman on 8/11/2007 at 08:01
There's nothing technically wrong with that clip, really. It's just super cheesy Luc Besson-esque stuff, which doesn't seem quite right for this story (plus there's evidence of some rawk guitar in there isn't there? That's like saying "My action is substandard anyway").
Seems odd that his super cool door security bomb is more dangerous to people on the inside. And, well, let's not talk about showing the actual game in the movie. That did work well for House of the Dead so who wouldn't rip it off.

Well... I'm looking forward to the movie; and didn't object to that trailer.

Same. I guess I'm not that picky.

I dunno, I can't imagine judging anything by a snippet that short. I'm sure the movie is going to suck, but I assumed that the moment I heard the words "hitman" and "movie" used in the vicinity of each other.
Would you be able to form an opinion on a game demo if it featured 15 seconds of random gameplay from some completely random point in the middle of the game?
