Well, I played the demo for Blood Curse and that doesn't seem to be the case this time around. The localisation was pretty good for the demo.
This one seems to be a remake/retelling of the original Siren and, as a bonus, it's not as appallingly difficult.

Actually you can get Rogue Trooper (PC) for free via GameTap. It'll work just fine with an older computer as well.
It's not that good though.
I thought it was rather decent to be honest, but then again my inner twelve year old was having so much fun running around the RT setting that I may be slightly biased.

Ignore MorbusG, Condemned is a fantastic atmospheric and guttural horror FPS (I have yet to play the sequel).
Rainbow Six Vegas is a solid, thoroughly well-made action title. I greatly enjoyed the PC version.

Yeah but the later half of the game is just crap. Also, I bumped into a nasty bug in the first game which left me without any weapons to face the final boss-fight. And the last save point was way, way, waywayway back. It's kinda hard to end that guy with just kicking. And hence my comment about the game.

Yeah, solid crap. What they did to the franchise is just horrible. The only game-serie where you could just plan out everything, lay back, and watch your team execute the plan. But no, they had to make it to yet another FPS without anything going for it. That's how I feel about it.

You, sir, may be one of the only fully honest souls left in the world. Hats off to you. ;)
I dun get it :(
Does this mean that I am to be rewarded for being on a budget? Or that I should pirate XP onto my sister's computer instead?

I'm simply saying that most people wouldn't bother about buying XP, they'd just pirate it. I'm not telling you what you should or should not do. Hence me describing you as honest. :)

Didn't MS stop selling new XP licenses in June '08 (not counting OEM vendors)? Either way, XP is pretty much done at retail. There'd be little point in buying it now.

So you didn't plan ahead and that makes the game crap. Okay.
