(
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/?p=1887) Rock Paper Shotgun has the article - a standalone game based on the Civ IV engine. I am in heaven.
Or at least I will be when Alpha Centauri gets a remake too.

Guess I'll be buying Civ4 when this comes out :D.
And I second the Alpha Centauri remake.

No need! Despite the wording of the title, it's apparently a standalone game.

This is great, absolutely loved the original Colonization. The fact that's it's standalone is awesome as well, since I don't own Civ 4 or any of it's expansions. Title is a bit confusing though.
Also, anyone wanna fill me in on what Houston's got to do with any of this?

Maybe he meant Boston?

Technically the colonists could have a Tea Party in any of your coastal settlements IIRC - I just picked Houston instead of Boston, as that's one of the things I remember vividly about the game. :p

Ah, ok. Cheers.

Exciting news. I just started a new game of Col last evening, and could use an updated version. Hope they don't overcomplicate it like they did with the Civilization series.

Have we not seen a sequel to Alpha Centauri because EA is sitting on the rights?
