So how about multiplayer? What do the devs say about this? I think I have heard somewhere that there are thoughts about implementing it, in a new Thief

That'd be really good, I think :P Just as long as the multiplayer isn't the main focus, like it is for some games.

I haven't heard there were thoughts to do it. I, myself, have mentioned it was something the original LGS devs wanted, but it never happened. I also followed that by saying I would not want the new game compromised in any way to make that happen. Single player is the most important, and that has to be done as best as they can get it before spending too much time developing multiplayer.

Yes I agree... if they want multiplayer then give that portion to another quality dev to develop. I dont want them distracted from single player! heh

Can see it now - 16 Garretts on one side and 16 on the other. Every one of us is hiding in the shadows and thus, a camp fest. :sly:
Just teasing - sure they could figure out a way to do it - but if they do add other characters - I got dibs on being Karras! :thumb:
Wait, maybe Benny would be a lot more fun....:weird:

If anything, they should add the multiplayer after the game is finished aka Deus Ex style.
Thief really doesn't need multiplayer imo.

... absolutely HATE multiplayer (and on-line in general) games. It seems that so many games being developed/released focus more on the multiplayer experience as the primary factor driving the game, then include the single-player as an after thought just to shut up those who prefer "old-style" gameplay. Thief is about complete immersion into a world where stealth and cunning rules--not about who can reach a chunk of gold first, or which team takes out the Hammerite. I don't want to be assimilated into part of a team! I wanna steal stuff.

Co-op missions would be nice, but I don't really want any versus stuff. I've seen how it works in Thievery and it's not stealthy really. Its possible to create a stealth MP Thief but you'd have to put some serious restrictions on movement and speed. A sprint/stamina meter would be essential.

It's a whole other game, in the same settings and locales.
I don't know what the original devs had planned for how they were going to change the missions to accommodate multiplayer "TheftMatch". Were they going to have two sets of maps, one as we know it, and the other set up with two or more non-Garrett Thieves' Guild taffers playing capture the fat noble's trinket?
