Rhetorical question. I know why u all suck, but at the same time I sent this accusation AWAY from us. Into the Mediocrasphere, where the short-attention-spanned live, if live is the word. They filter the passing krill of popular music, fashion, gaming, and food as it is wafted past their gaping, gormless mouths. Cunning currents swirl the crap up from the seabed, it feeds garbagefish and scavengers which, don't get me wrong, can be delicious. Catfish is one of my favourite fish, if not my favourite. But I dig steelhead and muskie and squid. I'll eat from the surface, i'll eat from the bottom, it's alright... because I have PERSPECTIVE. You don't deep-fry salmon, and you don't eat rainbows raw, gnome sane?
Lookit, I love you all. I always have. But you're stupid. It's okay, it's okay, don't freak out. I didn't know that I was stupid until they told me. It's not much of a cross to bear: Even with the Stupidity nerf I'm still in the 90th percentile. And so are you. Except for Dethtoll. He's in the 95th. Just don't tell him that or he'll get all Erect again, and no one wants that... other than me.
So here's the nub, the gist, the crux, the question:
How are you guys? I really do care. I've seen Gray and Daxim lately, it gave me the graveshivers. And it made me wonder...
Are you still getting the same experience out of TTLG as you did? Is it different? Better? Worse? I've made solid real-life friends here. Paz, Hanse, and I (probably others) have found our loves here. We've (many of us) made strong, honest, long-lasting and loving friendships. Is it still the same? Do you know each other? Are you happy? I hope you are. We tried so hard (SO HARD) in the early 2000s to make this a place unlike the twattery of other places. We had goals we couldn't articulate, intelligence we didn't understand, fashion choices that were frankly perplexing even to the greatest of us (Grundbegriff, I'm looking at you, you GRRM-looking awesome bitch)...
I guess I just wanted to say that I still look at the nest, I still care a lot about this place, and I hope that you're getting as much real-world benefit out of TTLG as we did a decade ago.

General gaming related discussion has become either cringeworthy or mostly irrelevant.
I moved to Kolya's forum along with everything and everyone related to System Shock.
Commchat has grown from embarrassing adulthood to near-senility with full-blown Alzheimer's.
So, thank fuck for Thief fans and FM creators, you know, the ones people'll call autistic when they're not listening.
