Ah, I see, ethnocentricity at its best. ;) It was kind of hilarious (in its most dry sense), though, I must admit (these anti-drug things always tend to get very simplified - and I say that as a person being anti towards
any drug (legal or not)).

The thing is, why was the dad in such a tizzy over something which he obviously allowed his son to see his father doing? That commercial was a bit nonsensical; I doubt anyone in this actual situation ever had a confrontation like that. Generally from what I've experienced, and what I've heard others have experienced, kids either: 1. learned about the negative consequences simply from watching their parents and decided against drugs or 2. were drawn into doing it and their parents didn't care.
On an aside, the thing about nostalgia is that it is in the past and things will never be the same as they once were. I've felt this way about Thief for a long time, and sometimes I wish I had never played it just so I could play it again for the first time; however, it would never be the same as when I experienced it for the first time during that particular time period.
