Hello,
I've just spent the last half-hour screaming at my computer because I'm running around a boat that is exploding around me. Here's what I've learned and tried:
After blowing up the fifth weld point, a transmission says to head for the roof. Riiiight. I went out the West door of the dock, up the ladder and after multiple banging of my head on the exploding ceiling, managed to get back into the very top of the air ventilation shaft.
Where there are two vents. Both of which go DOWN.
So I go down. BOTH of them (from a saved game point). If I go up the stairs back to the first level I get ANOTHER transmission telling me to go to the air ventilation shafts from the West end of the dock. Jock will meet me on the roof.
Which I had already done.
I looked up a walkthough on Deux-ex Machina. It reads, "Go to the west end of the dock, into the door, and up the ladder. Then go into the small opening, past the elevator shaft, and into an area transition. Go up the ladder, past the fan, and out onto the roof to meet Jock."
:grr:
Okay. Deep breath. If I follow the walkthrough instructions, the only ladder is the one that goes to the big fan and I become flying kleenex again.
Please, folks, I *MUST* be missing something!

Go to the big fan, destroy it, climb up and awaaaaaay! Or, go out the ground-level door, but that's tricker.

Just go out whichever way you came in, and get on the roof. You can go right through the building and use the elevator. :)

Fred: Blow up the fan... then climb? Are there ladders? When I was floating around in there I scanned all the walls with the flashlight on, looking for exits but didn't spot any...
Amorpheus: I came in over the girder (placed there by the crane). So, out, over the girder, then back to the base, yes?
The thing that keeps hurting my head is that I don't recall an elevator, unless you mean the crane elevator...?

It's the crane elevator where the military bots are on patrol - just outside the dock with the Wall Cloud. Jock is waiting right up there.
