There are enough shadows to simply time your movements right to ghost through.

The first time I played it was on normal difficulty, and seeing as the only thing I had with me that would damage them was fire arrows, I had no choice but to ghost or be caught by the glow of the arrow. My advice is to use one or two noisemaker arrows, and run away whilst they are investigating. Also, in the library with the glyph, as someone already said, all you have to do is jump onto the bookcases. The statues suddenly become mostly oblivious to you, and they dont ever seem to go up the stairs.

You can always flashbomb them and run past them!

Yeah, I didnt know flashbombs worked on them until about a week ago... shows how much I dont know in this game.

As I recall, a few water arrows to take out the torches is generally enough. Just stick to the shadows at that point and time your movements. I've actually never tried killing them prior to getting the glyph that lets you blackjack them.

Fire arrows arent worth the hassle, seeing as it needs like 4 to take them down, and by that time they're all chasing you shouting their weird words...

I suppose a better choice would be a single mine. The noise of deploying it will attract attention and when it blows up they'll all come running.

The easiest way for me is to climb the wall and get onto the ledge. If they follow me over to the doorway I use a noise-maker arrow to distract them. I didn't use mines at all. Noisemakers are cheaper then mines, so I don't mind using more of them.
