Hello
Looking for a way to turn an H2)StreamFlat off and on with a switch. Is there a way to make it switchable? All my collected tutorials are about lights, doors and sound. Are there tutorials about controlling FX?

I think you just need the script StdParticleGroup, and deselect 'active' in the Particles property.

Yep, that should do it.

THANKS! Mission now only probably about 10 years to completion rather than 12! :joke:

The set up I'm working with just got more complex, and it isn't working the way I need it to, though StdParticleGroup does work for making the lever turn the water off and on.
I have a switch connected to some objects through a relay trap. They start on, and the switch turns them all off.
This switch is also connected to the water. I need the water to start OFF, and when the switch is pulled, it must turn on as the other things go off.
I've tried a bunch of things with Tweq and Particles properties, none of them successful. My brain is feeling pretty bunched up right now!

Simple solution: Just put an Inverter between the switch and the particles, then their state will be the opposite of the state of the objects directly linked to from the switch.

So the inverter works BEFORE the switch action happens? Cool!
PS: Thanks so much for the HMDK, which I am using extensively in this mission. I LOVE Hammerites - so much warmer and fuzzier than Mechs ...

Well, the inverter reverses the message send from the switch before it reaches the water particles.

Yep. Worked! My diabolical torture device is now in swing ... ta da deee da da dum :ebil:
