When Garrett's flattened against a wall in TDS, the AI can't see him when they should. It's like he's supernaturally invisible, but he's not.

You forgot the 5th option: "Don't know, don't care".

He has some skill but it is a glyph magic. Now there are no more glyphs and Garrett should be 90% more visible in Thief 4.

Is this is a joke?

Wasn't it from the start?
BTW: pure skill, and that's all.

He will still be 10% at fault, just for being there... :p

Yes but...
If that was an option, why even bother? :)

I've always been of the mind that his 'skill' which seems so 'remarkable' to the Keepers is more than just a natural ability. I mean, surely he's not the ONLY skilled thief in the city - yet he gets through places no one else can or has. The Keepers seem baffled by him - and if he was using glyphs, it makes sense that they'd know. Plus, as someone pointed out, it was actually stated somewhere that he didn't have access to that many glyphs - and he left before his training was complete, so I doubt he got to keep whatever he had gotten.
But, there are clearly more than just glyph magics in the world. Pagans have one form of it. Whatever powers those magic-light thingamaboppers, the whole zombie/haunt thing are all forms of magic. Even the Hammers have a form of magic in their holy water fountains and the way they were able to 'fix' a trap eye for the Trickster. And the 'brotherhood of the hand' had elemental magics.
So I've always kind of thought that maybe Garrett had some sort of innate magic that made his skill 'unusual'. Its not drastic, or flashy - and he would probably swear up and down that he had no magic and didn't want any magic. But it makes sense that there is a form that he is naturally talented at. Its just more subtle than some. And yes, it is aided by his own wits and tools, but he still does most of it himself.
I seriously doubt the Keepers who apparently 'see' so much would be amazed at an ordinary thief who was skilled, but still ordinary. It does make sense that there's a little more going on there.
Also, it seems to me there have been mentions of people being 'gifted' somewhere in these, and its not an unusual thing to have magic weilders who have some sort of natural talent that makes them able to do what it is they do with better success than others. He could well be one of those.
But no, its not Glyphs either. At least, thats my thoughts on the matter. :)
