I've played TDP demo back in 199X, and bought TMA on 2001 or 2002. I got stuck on the courier mission. Wasn't very smart back then so I didn't figure what to do. About 7 months later I came back. That's when I started looking for Thief-stuff websites and ended up getting here on TTLG.
I still don't know how I managed to start playing Thief, being a kid and without proper knowledge of english.

Ever since Thief 1 came out in 1999. Never bothered with the demo; I just went straight to the full game after reading many positive articles in PC Gamer magazine. I've been playing all three (DP, TMA, DS) ever since.

TDP demo in August 1999. I've been amazingly ignorant about the FM scene all those years.
Beware cutty452, TDP came out in autumn 1998.

Taffin' since 1999. Hmmm... I love reminiscing over those long dark nights with Garrett's voice keeping me company. :ebil:

I got TDP when I bought a new sound card somewhere around 2000. I played the Bafford mission and started on Cragscleft, but never got further than the abandoned mine, so I quit and forgot about Thief. After a few months I picked it up again and finished the Cragscleft mission. This time I got really hooked and played the whole game through to the last mission in a couple of nights. The first night I played as in a trance and I still remember that feeling of participating in something very special and new. I have been hooked on Thief ever since, six years and I'm still enjoying it.

Started in 2004 with all of them, T3 first, bitched and moaned with T2 hardships second, was relieved with T1 third. I know I've reversed the sequence, but at least I know that Doom 3 is not a scary as T1 now.
Years ago however I got killed a plenty in the demos, so that put me off for a few years.

2001. I was in Switzerland over the winter holidays, and picked up a German gaming magazine. It was the Christmas issue, so there was a CD jam-packed with all sorts of games, mostly freeware, but all full-version games. One of the games was Thief: The Dark Project. I installed it, and instantly became addicted. Ah, the nostalgia...

I started a few months before TMA came out. Walking through the software department, I saw T1 and thought, "Hey, that box is shaped just like the Tomb Raiders boxes." I liked Tomb Raiders, so I bought it. Got hooked so fast I never played Tomb Raiders again. :cheeky:
