you can't carry blackjacked NPCs on your back but instead have to pull them by their arms or legs - good luck doing that in tight spaces.
You actually can do that - after you right click their bodies press ENTER (or other button you bind for "use inv. item").

I gave TDM
another chance today, it could be 5th or so over many years... I just can't enjoy it - it still feels janky, blackjacking feels off, lockpicking is annoying, you can't carry blackjacked NPCs on your back but instead have to pull them by their arms or legs - good luck doing that in tight spaces. Thanks but no thanks, this was the last time for me.
I suggest playing Bikerdude's remastered training mission for the 2.0 release. It takes your through
a lot of maneuvers that you never will realize if you just come straight from Thief and instead only play by trial and error. Accurate object manipulation is one of my favorites. You can also swing on ropes to get across chasms. You can pick up bodies instead of dragging them, and when you drop them again, they alternate between landing on back or front. It feels different from Thief because...well...it's a different engine. The amount of releases on the OP tells you it is a very popular and well-supported mod.

If you are talking about training mission included in TDM install, then it's trash. Many important mechanics aren't explained like putting bodies on your back, eavesdropping, auto parry or badly explained like opening chest with key. I got stuck on this many times and overall had very bad time. And this pop-up hints are the worst - they vanish super quickly and never reappear. It's obvious for me that this mission was only tested by people who knows perfectly every mechanic in the game and not by people who never played TDM.

Yeah, it's the same. If I didn't force myself to try FMs I would give up on TDM entirely. I had really bad experience with this mission. New Job and Tears of St Lucia were much better especially since I managed to accidentally find out how to put bodies on back instead of just dragging them on floor. This was life changer.

I'm not sure if you are intending for it, perhaps it's the language barrier, but you are coming across as extremely disrespectful here. Trash? Compared to what?? Not having a training mission at all? Or perhaps the training mission that you have made? Oh wait, you didn't make one did you. The whole mod, including the training mission, are made in the creator's free time, without any pay or compensation. It is made to help players get into the mod. Sure, it might not be for everybody, but that is more personal opinion than reflecting on the quality of the mod.

This is explained, it's just you didn't read the book that explained it. In my video (
https://youtu.be/-v1sz6VQydE?t=6695) here at 1:51:35 I read the exact passage which
very clearly explains how to carry bodies.

Are you comparing two full fledged missions to a training mod? You cannot be serious.

Sorry to chime in but is it only me who finds this unintentionally funny?

quality over quantity is my view when it comes to fan missions

I still have a backlog of TDS missions, but I might finally give TDM a try after I cleared it.
