In addition, on rare occasions it is acquired by an object during the course of a normal game (although it would not be noticeable in many cases - furniture, bottles, fences etc.). Sometimes, however, it will appear on arrows or AI, where it is certainly noticeable.
The Death Stage property is well known for this effect. No one knows why it sometimes appears on objects for no obvious reason. The 'stage' part gave me a clue that maybe this has something to do with the watcher in the basement of 'Lord Maguire's Estate' the colors of the gem thing dont change properly. The first time you find it is looks dead. Then when it sees you it turns green. Then if it locks on from there it turns yellow. If you let it settle after you alarm it, it will turn red. If it sees you again, it will look off. If it locks on for the 2nd time, I will look dead again.

If it doesn't explode, hit it with a broadhead. Same as a mine that the guards miss. A broadhead will blow them all up. A flare or fire arrow will explode barrels of explosives.
When the guards are close shoot the little bastard.

Broadhead didn't work. Slash with sword didn't work. Nor did fire arrow as the video shows.
I even laid out a mine. The mine exploded, the frogbeast did not. Then I used the ultimate weapon... the Sunburst Explosive. I was damaged, the frogbeast hopped merrily around after the explosion. LOL.

Frogbeasts have 1 hit point. If they don't explode with the slightest damage (they can be blackjacked successfully), you've got a Deathstage 12 glitch, or a modified frogbeast.

It is the Deathstage glitch. I haven't modified the game at all. Don't even know how to.
But it is funny watching four guards trying to wail on the frogbeast at the same time.
Had to save the beast on video for prosperity's sake.
