It was probably just a glitch, but one time I did take on 6 haunts and won.
I only had about 1 or 2 health points left, though.
When I have been busted, I am generally pretty good at melee, but haunts are darn near impossible most of time.
If I do get busted, I will generally start over from a save, depending on the style of game play I decide to follow.
Anyone like to share what there best health points are after melees with more than one haint?

Unfortunately for this topic, there's more than one method for taking out haunts without any receiving any damage at all. The replies you're looking for will be only from people who have engaged a haunt face-to-face AND used only the sword AND involved multiple strikes and blows. Even narrowing it down, there's still one method that comes to mind for winning against all the haunts and coming away with all the health you had before engaging them.
Engaging six haunts at once, you did pretty good, regardless of methods. I've never gotten myself into that situation, so I can't share any such experience.

I only mean a direct confrontation with sword melee.
I pretty much doubt I could achieve this again with higher life pointage without some pure luck.
But a few the ways you can do it no confrontation and no damage is:
flashbombs, fire arrows, or mines.
I think these are about the hardest AI's to try and ghost by, especially on tile floors, so it is the AI that I get busted by the most.
When I do get busted by the haunts, it is an opportunity to improve speed and placement on my sword melees; unfortunately, it is also the AI I lose to the most, if there is no immediate escape path.

Yeah. I knew what you meant, I was just warning you that most taffers here know of the methods I'm speaking of.
These techniques DON'T use flashbombs, fire arrows, holy water arrows, the explosive device, or mines. They use the sword, or no Thiefy weapon you could ever buy before a mission, or add to your inventory.

Now you have got me curious.
Other than:
Sneaky sword backstrike , run (or draw attention with noise arrows) the haunts towards other A.I.s who are their natural enemys, or run them through something already shooting, I am not sure of any other ways, unless they drown like the 'live' hammers do.
I have been playing a good long time, but I really like it when I find a new technique, method, or area.
Could it be I missed another way to take these things out?

I think it's safe to say these methods are commonly unexpected.
Knowing them will also potentially ruin your gaming experience, especially because you can use these methods on other AI, as well...
...or maybe you'll find them liberating?:ebil:
I hesitate to tell you. It's like juicy gossip that can bite you back.
In fact, even though these methods have been explained and discussed in other threads, I still would rather PM you.
In my first post above, I was hoping to deflect all the taffers that would drop in and say, "What? I always just [fill in the blank] and take 'em all out. Why don't you?"

Now I am also reluctant to ask, but still intrigued by the prospect at the same time.
Go ahead and PM.
I will decide after if I should use or not, determined by the rules I set for what gaming style, I might choose; be it ghosting, full or selective knock-outs, half & half, rampage etc.
jtr7 on 27/11/2007 at 02:15
Ah, sorry. It looks like you cannot yet receive PM's, but you do have e-mail address listed. Should I e-mail you, then?
