I lost interest in SoF 2 around the time I hit the jungle parts, but the first one is a milestone for me in terms of fun. Nostalgia might be a factor, though, so YMMV if you're going to play it now for the first time. DRM-wise, the first one, at least, is old enough to have probably just had a simple serial/CD check.

They have pretty basic copy protection. SoF 2 does have a serial, the first does not. They both have a simple cd-check, though the cd is unnecessary for online play.
