Ill start this. Im a 40 year old guy. I started playing PC games with Unreal
in 1998. Im curious as to how old the average gamer id ans also how many woman get into the gaming fun to. Im guessing the average age is mid 20s and the sex demographic is about 25 to 30 % woman. Lets see.

34, male. I started playing in 1984 when we got a C-64. And thanks to Rock Band, Little Big Planet and Lego Star Wars I'm starting to get my girlfriend into gaming (other than Mahjong, that is) as well.

Gender might be a better word than sex, if only because this is TTLG.
Anyway.
26, male, started gaming when I got a NES.

Yes, I'm in your average demographic; male and 24. My introduction into gaming came at the end of 1991, with an Amiga 500 bought as a Christmas present (which is still in occasional use today, I'm happy to add!) Captain Planet, Lemmings and Bart vs the Space Mutants were the games bundled with it.
Got our first PC when I was in secondary school (can't remember the exact year - maybe '98 or '99) and have had a soft spot for PC gaming ever since.

It's worth noting that
A. TTLG is in no way representative of the gaming demographic at large, and
B. What percentage of gamers are female depends on whether you count casual games (if you include Solitaire, the number skyrockets).
I'm actually considering doing my dissertation on the gender gap in gaming.
Anyway: 21 (22 in two weeks), started gaming on the PC when I was a wee lad - first "real" game I played was probably The Secret of Monkey Island, albeit when I was 4 and couldn't read yet...

We're all 19 year old girls really and right now I'm wearing my pink Princess Peach outfit and I'm waiting for you to sort my plumbing out Mario.

22, male. First game was Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System when I was 3 (and no, I didn't understand a damn thing that was going on).

28, male. Started in the 80's with C-64, SNES, some SEGA console (I guess, can't remember what it was). Didn't play any games during the 90's (I was a teenager, had other things on my mind), started with PC gaming in 2001 or 2002.

32/M/197? (I have no idea really, but I was playing games in the arcade with my dad as far back as I can remember)
First system was a Sears Video Arcade II. First PC game I'm not sure of, probably Wolf 3D or if you mean computers in general then Zork.
