My family did have the Pong console from like 1977, but my first real gaming memories are Atari 2600 cir. 1979 -- Combat was one of the first, Decathalon probably my favorite ... Adventure, Maze Craze, Centipede, Phoenix, Joust, Yar's Revenge. (My neighbor/bff later got an NES and a 386; we did lots of Sierra adventures on that.)
We had a Tandy desktop for a short while, but I just remember an ascii game called Wizzard.
Somewhere like 1986 we got a C64 and that was my great awakening ... I loved the games on it and I loved programming little things on it ... holy crap. Let's see, just copy/pasting my list: Bard's Tale2, California Games, The Pawn, Project Firestart, Stealth Fighter, Exploding Fist 2, Test Drive 2, Shogun, Taipan, Paradroid, Rags to Riches, Ultimate Wizard, Wizball...
In high school I also had a TI-85 calculator and would program little games on it...
Didn't get my first laptop until university, then the first games were like -- well I just remember Civilization and the demo for GTA2 -- My 2nd laptop was when I got Tomb Raider 2, Thief, DX, and SS2 -- and I'd just play the hell out of those for a while. Been PC gaming ever since.

21. Male. I started gaming with Frogger, Kaboom! and an Atari 2600 which still works. :D My first real computer game (discounting all the educational stuff) I believe was Chaganitzu, although that's really stretching my memory, so I could be wrong.

I'll start this. ...
Hmm, Does it really matter?
Age: Over 60? Old enough to know better but young enough not to care. Hope I don't throw off you demographics too much.
Sex: Male or whenever I want it ... being married has to be good for something, right?
First game: Wow, that was a long time ago. Found some poorly written text games on the mainframe at the University of New Mexico in 1974. I showed them to a friend and we decided to rewrite them so they either did what they were supposed to do, make better versions, or both. Got at least 3 classes of Undergraduate Problems courses out of it (with A's earned for each one of course) and ended up with (I think) 23 games on a selectable menu. The Computer Center started using our games as intros to new students just starting out. One of these days I really must go back to see if anything remains.
Bought my first PC in 1977, an Apple ][ with a whopping 48 KB RAM an dual 140 KB SSSD floppy drives for about $1400.00. Wonder what that would buy now? I used to write Adventure type modules for an early game that ran on the Apples. I never published anything but it was fun to be able to make the computer do something I enjoyed.

I'm your average nerd, 23 and Male. My first experience with games is Prince of Persia on the PC(DOS to be more precise). I didn't play Ataris and Commodores like some of the others here.
