Now that I have read through the threads my memory is returning..I guess I actually sharted at my uncles house with "Pong" a very simple tennis like game in 1980 then on to an atari 2600 playing Pac Man and Pitfall ect..then Donky Kong...after thet in the early 80s I did not play anything untill the aforementioned P3 System around 1998 and Unreal. The rest is history and I still love PC games only now. I am a keyboard and mouse guy. I just can't deal with the joystick/handheld controller games. The ease of mouse look is my sticking point.

40 years old, male.
The first video game I played was either Pong or Breakout. I played a lot of computer games until I was 30, then I gradually lost interest.

I'm not going to say exactly how old I am, but l will say I'm a male, older than 40 but younger than 60. Never had any consoles. First PC game I played was Amber Journeys Beyond and was blown away that a computer could do such things. Even at my advanced age still play many games in between my musical endeavors.

Male, 21 years old.
First game I encountered was sometime in the early 90s and was either Super Mario Bros. or Wolfenstein 3D, I can't really remember which. Wolf 3D definitely had the bigger impact on me, though.

I'm actually saddened that I honestly can't remember what my first PC game was; we did get Microsoft Flight Simulator bundled with our first computer but I know I didn't bother trying it until much later on. I want to say Quake but I can't be certain.
Oh yeah, there was also a demo of a game called "Space B@$tards" or something like that which I played very early on (and those symbols there were actually part of the title as I recall, not just my crap attempts at censoring.)

25, male. Can't remember the first game I ever played, probably some Nintendo titles played on my cousin's console. But I clearly remember which is the first game I got ADDICTED to, which is SimCity 2000. Played the hell out of that, and mastered near every trick in the book. Strategy games remained my genre of choice for a while (SimFarm, SimTower, Red Alert, Total Annihilation), until Fallout, Baldur's Gate and later, Planescape: Torment sucked me into the world of RPGs. Now, I enjoy games of all genres, but RPGs still remains my favourite.
