I was late hearing about thief, starting with thief II, and by that time I was about 44 in 2004 or so. It's very enjoyable and sometimes extremely frustrating when garret grunts as he falls again and again..

Unfortunately, I only got to play ID's first person shooters when I was younger. I only recently got exposed to the thief universe. And by recently I mean just a few months ago.
I'm 19.
I'm glad I'm a doomer. I can look past the graphics in almost any game so long as it's fun. I just beat Crysis a few hours ago, and while it was the prettiest game I've ever played, it doesn't stop me from firing up doom or thief and having fun.

I remember back in I think 1998 reading through the first person shooter forums about the newest games... and they was talking about the Thief Demo and how good it was.. I downloaded it with a 56k modem.. I was 33-34 back then
I was shocked how much fun it was, kind of realistic.
I bought the Full Thief TDP right when it came out. I never bought the gold ver, but when Thief2 came out.. I bought it.
I still play it, my 9 yr old and 1 tr old boys LOVE the game and the fan missions.
They have games like GTA3, but never play them hardly. some are close, but No 1st person shooter on earth compares to Thief 1 and Thief 2.

I was ten years old when I first played The Dark Project. I couldn't get past Cragscleft prison because the zombies were too god damn scary.
Summoning up the courage to get through and complete the Maw of Chaos is probably the bravest thing I ever did at that age.
