I hadn't played, much less heard of, Thief until Deadly Shadows. *hanging my head in shame*
If it makes you feel better, I had heard of Thief many many years ago but didn't buy a copy until 2007, a Sold Out T1 + T2 package. Yesterday I reached Masks, god I love mansion missions.
So yeah, started playing Thief at the age of 19. I'm 20 now. :o

The Thief2 Demo mission "The Unwelcome Guest" was on the cover CD of a PC magazine I bought round about Christmas 2002.
I was 65.

I've read about half of your stories now in these comments and will finish after i post my similiar story.
I think it was about 2001, when my older bro got Thief I Gold and i guess then i was about 8 then. I didn't even try it much back then, but i knew i would like it. I think a bit later when i was 9-10, bro bought Thief II and then i really got to playing it. I guess i paused again and a bit later with my bro played it till the end and finished, but i was stuck in the last mission somewhere and couldn't find a thing i missed to defeat youknowwho. Then i paused for a long time again (yes, shame on me) and my Thief III couldn't run because of my weak PC (even now). Now recently i got to try out Thief III on my dad's laptop (but affraid i won't get a 2nd chance :erg: ) so i decided to get first two Thieves again (although this time i downloaded them...) and thanks for the instruction on this forums how to install Thief I, i am playing it. Started about yesterday or so. Gonna get my addiction back, since i never really played Thief I and never finished Thief II and got stuck in the zombie level in Thief2x!
I sure love to write much...
Oh and, belive it or not, Thief has always been my nick everywhere since i have registered to stuff and played online (2004 year i guess) and this is the one place i cannot actually use it :P
Oh and it's dumb to say it, but i'm sure none of you would even guess my full password or use it for evil: A part of my password sustains a word from Thief Universe.
Well, thanks for starting to belive in Thief again and not feel too old for it, cause before i realised these forums are so active, i was about to give up.
I guess i'm gonna play it right now :)
Thank you, Thor out.

Welcome aboard.:) ...but talking about piracy will get the moderators on you quick.:erg: Refrain from mentioning anything like "i downloaded it."

You mean i'll get warned/banned or my post shall be deleted? That would be too bad... all that effort to write it.
Well, i still have the Discs. Thief I was actually a copy from dad's old friend a loong time ago... and Thief II was bought, but the disc is a bit scratched/messed so have to use a programm to run it OH forgot - it was half russian... that's the biggest reason... so i just decided to pirate with most likely newer versions :thumb:
*looks for the disc, can't find it* sh*t... bro must have thrown it out due to it's minuses and age... blast. Oh well :erg:

Not to mention it could perhaps potentially cause a few other users to become sligthly more inclined to feel somewhat negative feelings toward the downloader, and possibly even express them in a remotely unfavourable manner.

Thanks...lol
So i am a bad person, because i don't like to buy Thief more then once? For god's sake that's one of the few games me/my bro have actually bought... lol

Wow.... I'm not even going to bother responding, since this is going offtopic.
However I do want to say that I never(nor Zillameth) said "you are a bad person" in my post.
