Branching off from the original How to be a Guard thread, I thought it needed an expansion. What better type to start off with than the Hammerites.
1: Sometimes, you must grumble and mutter about the incompetence of others, even though some of your brethren are right next to you.
2: When in combat, the top priority is smashing the thief. Show your impressive strength as you swing your hammer. It's not like he can avoid or block your attacks.
3: When something sacred gets stolen from one of your altars, don't worry. This is perfectly normal and the thief will probably return the stolen loot.
4: If you're a priest, then throw caution to the winds when you spot an enemy. Smite the villain with magical hammers, even when your melee brethren are in the way.
5: If your health is low enough, run away to a certain point. If something strikes you again, pound this nail as if nothing happened to you.
6: Remember, the enemy is a nail. You are a hammer. Be sure to let the enemy know this when you attack.
7: When you see something moving about in the shadows, don't bother checking to see what it is. Staying at your post is more important, especially in Cragscleft.

8. If you're an unarmed Hammerite novice and you find Garrett, be sure to run up to him and play the combat animations as though you had a hammer (complete with overhead swings). I've actually seen servants do this too!
9. Be sure and store valuables such as vases and statues on pedestals throughout your sacred temple, so a thief passing by can easily nab them.
10. Every Hammerite temple must have a graveyard underground, patrolled by at least one haunt and possibly some zombies.

11. The best way to attack your enemy is to swing your hammer low, to hit your enemy to the cojones.
12. If you instead decide to hit your enemy multiple times in a row, even if your first hit misses, you must complete the sequence of 3 hits while standing still, swinging at air.
13. When you encounter an enemy, never take your eyes off him. You must stare at him straight in the eye at all times.

14. Always blame the Mechanists. Always. Try to righten their heretical beliefs in a Hammerite way.

15. If thou be one of the scribes, remember that our rule is: one percept per book. The optimum, of course, is one line per book. If thou canst make the percept into a snappy one-liner, the Builder shall reward thee.

That one's actually normal. It's a mark of faith. They have so much faith in the Builder that surely he will strike down whatever Thief doth steal from the Builder's house! :p

And that's not always the case, btw. In Undercover, that's a way to have them run and set off alarms.

16. If alerted to a noise, it is compulsory to give 'the look' while in search mode:
That's included in my thing:

17. If you do happen to get killed, be sure to throw in an "I Crumble..." before you pass on.
