no, i mean you are talking a new fog that New dark supports, i´m curious.

Not a new fog, just better support for particles so that it may be possible to make decent-looking ground fog now with particles.

Then i guess i will wait a while until you guys come up with a new improved version of the fog .

Does all that object, polygon, and tweq expenditure really produce significantly better effects than just using a particle system? NewDark bitmap particles do support imparting random spin to each particle.
Dunno! I came up with the initial version of it pre-NewDark, and have tweaked it since then, but never really tried replicating it with particles. One thing that may make a difference is that I can easily control the orientation of the planes the mist texture is applied to, and that may not be doable with particles, at least not as easily.

Why would you ever want any orientation other than facing directly toward the player? Seems like viewing a spinning fog sprite edge-on would rather give away the illusion.

Ah. That's a completely different kind of fog than I had in mind. Much more stylized.

That's cool. I'm curious about what it looks like in motion.

Seriously Chris, you need to finish that damn mission so we can start nicking your FX, man!
