I have no idea, but you could try installing them there

thief-en

and

thief-fr

(first install the French version into some temporary directory, then copy it to thief-fr directory, then uninstall French version, and install English version to the thief-en directory, now try with dracflamloc's thief launcher)

Thief launcher point it to the directories in question when you need to start one of those two versions but not both at the same time else you need the editor in one of them
