I always read in awe this mission times that people post. Sometimes it seems to take me forever to finish a mission. Reasons why include;
a) getting lost (some of the mission floor plans look vastly alike)
b) having to detour because of approaching guards/etc
c) reading maps too long (probably should quicksave more often)
d) enjoying knocking out and killing too much:joke:
Any good tips on keeping mission completion times down?

On your third or fourth runthrough, you'll find yourself zipping through those maps. I'd guess it's just a matter of reloading every time you make a "mistake".
Speed runs have never interested me, though -- I've always assumed they're just another stats-based challenge for those who have beaten the game a few too many times. Personally, I replay the games only once every couple of years, and enjoy taking my time, exploring and experimenting with different situations.
Like the man said, for me, the action is the juice.

that pretty much sums it up, first time though i went fairly slowly, also depends how you play, trying to not be seen at all takes longer then waiting till the guard has his back to you and kocking him out, dont bother yourself with how quick other people can complete missions, go at your own speed and enjoy the levels as much as you can :)

Thanks, I have always tried to keep that in mind, but it is frustrating when you think, damn, I've been in this one area longer than some people take to finish. Speaking of weird, I had someone firing arrows at me on the other side of a door, and the arrows kept thudding into it, while the archer kept yelling at me:joke: . On the second replay, I got killed by arrows coming through the same door:laff: :tsktsk: !
