Hi guys,
Long time Thiefer here. I recently reinstalled Thief: TDP and have been playing it again...it's just as captivating as before, even though the graphics are "primitive" by today's Halo/Quake 4/Doom 3 standards. (I recently purchased Thief: Gold from half.com and can't wait to play the extra missions in it).
I have to travel for a week and since I'll be bringing my laptop with me, I was wondering how I can take my saved progress on my home PC and bring it over the my laptop, which also has Thief: TDP installed?
Is this even possible? Thanks.

I think that it is possible; just copy the save games. They likely are hidden your "user" folder.

No, they're located in the SAVES folder inside your Thief or Thief II directory. Copy the .sav files from that folder on your old computer into the corresponding folder on your laptop.

And if you ever get around to playing Thief: Deadly Shadows then you'll find the save games in your "Documents and Settings" folder.
Just throwing that out there for anybody who didn't know, since the question's been answered by Vigil.

I have Thief 1 and 2 installed on my Windows Vista laptop. For Thief 1, the save games as well as several .bnd files are stored in the SAVES folder. However, for Thief 2, the SAVES folder only contains the .bnd files. The Thief 2 save files are actually in AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Thief2\SAVES in the Users folder.

BND-files are your keyboard bindings. You can copy them too, if you customized them.
Of course, you need to have the same version of your game. If not, the save will reset to the beginning of the corresponding mission.
In TDS, you also need to remove (move somewhere, just in case) the file SaveIndex.ion from 'Savegame' folder. That will make the game to re-scan new saves and create SaveIndex.ion from scratch.

Interesting. Are you running on Vista? Sounds like the SAVES folder gets (
