Lets just say I have a gift card that needs to be used, so on a 10 pt basis (10 being the best) how would you rate the following (I'm thinking more in terms of the single player side of the games, though a good multiplayer always helps.) I don't trust online reviews, as they are often biased, but since I love Deus Ex, Thief, and SS2, I figured you guys would give me the most accurate view:
-Alpha Protocol
-Borderlands
-Lego Star Wars
-Dungeon Siege 2 (Strangely it is still full price)
-Sacred 2
Added: -Drakensang: The Dark Eye (Sounds like a Baldur's Gate clone)
If you know of any up and coming games (looking at Lego Harry Potter) to hold out for, or good games in the Adventure/Action-Adventure genre, feel free to post them to.
Graphics mean nothing, this comp can handle it. Same goes for age (heck I was tempted to buy the Baldur's Gate Pack, even though I own three of the 4 in the pack already.)

The only game I can give a review to is Dungeon Siege 2. It is linear in game play and it is of the Diablo/NOX/Titan Quest hack and slash style RPG. The party totals to four with your character one of the four.
Now this genre' of RPG are not my main preference but I have to say I enjoyed DS2 for the "change of pace." I liked the graphics, enjoyed the party aspect, and some of the side quests are actually enjoyable. There are TONS of different armor, weapons, etc. combinations.
I give it an 8 for the style in which it is. Others didn't like it.

When you say Lego Star Wars, are talking about Complete Chronicles? I haven't played it, but I have played the two volumes separately, and they're both 9s. A little repetitive, but still always fun.

I can definitely say that Lego Star Wars is a fun guilty pleasure and time-waster but doesn't have much replay value, even with an OCD-stricken lunatic like me.
But then again there aren't many games where you can play as Boba Fett in a bikini.

I love when people say "I don't trust online reviews!" and then ask random strangers on the Internet for opinions - which is exactly same thing as reading a review. Except more to the point and with typos.

That's pretty much how I interpreted it.
One more thing: I didn't enjoy Alpha Protocol. Probably the biggest thing that got to me was enemy AI–I always had the feeling that every single one of them had lobotomies and that the excised brain matter was replaced with giant tumours.
There's a bunch of other technical problems too... but at least the plot was good.

True. But reviews from places such as IGN generally have monetary incentives that skew the results of their "reviews".
And I not just posting this on any forum, I'm posting it on TTLG. I would be less likely to consider the opinions of people who prefer games such as Halo, Madden 20XX, or Call of Duty.
And I kinda like the "to the point" part.
So anyway, LEGO is 9/10 so far (I wonder if that will reflect on the Harry Potter one, or if its different between the Lego games). And DS2 is 8/10 (I did enjoy the atmosphere DS1). Pretty good scoring. The gift card is decently sized, so I may have to get both. Lets give AP a 5/10 from what you said, but if they fixed glitches I'd kick it up to 7/10.
Thanks for the replies so far, keep em coming.

Bingo.

Lego Star Wars is definitely great fun, especially if you want to play co-op with someone who doesn't play games 24/7.

. Koki is right. Grammatical errors galore!
Anyway, IGN isn't the only online gaming website with reviews. Have you tried The Escapist?
