That is the important question. Thief 3 can't stand firm (in my opinion) to the older games,
but how do they compete against each other?Yeah, that was one of the reasons that I started this poll/thread...along with having a more accurate gauge of the players experience.

Why are you feeding this troll?
ffs
Why are you being an ass?
You obviously have no idea who I am, and your prejudice is speaking loud and clear.
My intentions are of goodwill, and I desire to shed some light on how players more precisely feel about the individual games. Useful to many this is...and tis the antithesis of being a troll.

I for one preferred Thief 2 because of the advances made on the engine and gameplay, however most people found they preferred Thief 1's story and setting (no mechanists). While id have to agree, Thief's later levels were survival romps so i greatly appreciated the change of pace Thief2 provided with many more mansion and thievery missions.
Its a simple division then. If you enjoyed the story, spookiness and setting most youd probably give the edge to Thief. If Thief left you wanting more burglaries then Thief 2 was more your cup.
Theres no real 'controversy' about any of this however; almost all fans rated both Thief and Thief 2 highly
Many thief 1 levels are only with beasts, and zombies, you don't have the zoom, the human npcs are badly made (triangular foots... :tsktsk:), textures too flattened, and there are too few objects in the houses halls. That's why I like more Thief 2. And, of course, I'm a big fan of the Mech >=D

How can I be prejudiced against something I know nothing about?
Dude, this is Thief forums central for English speakers. Don't you think we've discussed this 10 year old game to death by now?
Anyway, carry on.

NO ONE should vote a 5 or below.:p Or I'll have to blackjack you.:ebil:
Anyway, I have a problem with this poll. I voted masterpiece, but it's labeled as "10", suggesting this poll is based on a 1-10 scale. When I look at a game based on that scale, I think of how GameSpot(gamespot.com) does it... In this case, I wouldn't rate thief a strait 10.0, as it's not THAT perfect. In fact, I rated thief on gamespot already, and I think I gave it like a 9.0 (regrettably should have put 9.5:cheeky:)
To me, it's still a masterpiece, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have flaws.

It's always good to make an overall consolidation of the 3 games. Plus you are very rude for no reason.

You've got a point. But I still think one either accepts TDP as a Masterpiece or as Brilliant.

We've discussed these games ad nauseum.
These threads are just like old ones, just like parody threads we've had before.
If you're happy with the cycle continuing get ready for the next one already.
